That on 5-7-2020 the Supreme Court Advocate On Record Association addressed the Supreme Court of India vide 2 letters requesting that the Supreme Court may take up Part heard and Regular cases only if consent is given by the contesting lawyers to appear and argue the matter.

The existing procedural regulations are currently not equipped to deal with the extra ordinary circumstances arising from virtual hearing. The letter suggests that a least a 2 week prior notice regarding the listing of matters should be given followed by the willingness of the contesting AOR’s .

The second letters highlights the problems associated with internet connectivity as well as other glitches being faced during the virtual hearing with a request being made to arrange the facility for virtual hearing inside the premises of the Supreme Court so that things could be taken forward from therein.
